Responsible data sharing to improve research integrity
1:50 PM - 2:15 PM
The move towards open science, in particular data sharing that includes clinical trial data, is an emerging trend the last several years. Data sharing that includes individual patient-level data should be conducted in a way that respects study participants while balancing privacy and any risk of re-identification. Vivli, the Global Data Sharing Platform, will be used as a case study to demonstrate how managed access may be implemented and safeguards put in place to ensure the responsible sharing of data. Vivli provides the scientific community access to one of the richest trial repositories currently available. Through Vivli, researchers may access thousands of clinical trials contributed by a diverse group of multi-stakeholders from industry, academic, government and non-profits.
